BlackBerry 9000 Bold or also known as the BlackBerry Bold is one of the newest BlackBerry smartphones that available in the market today. What’s the difference? Well, compared with the old BlackBerrys, the BlackBerry Bold is much better in both design and features. Just a little note for BlackBerry lovers “don’t worry it’s still huge and classy.” Thanks to RIM (Research in Motion), the manufacturer, the Bold still bring all that you loved about BlackBerrys of old in it.
Design
Well just like what I said earlier, it is still HUGE eventhough of course it is a little flatter than previous models. It looks classy just like previous models but it look modern too because it seems that RIM try to adopt the iPhone design into the Bold. With a silver bezel and black theme of the phone’s body this smartphone looks a lot like the iPhone 3G except that the BlackBerry Bold is broader and it has QWERTY keyboard. Yes, a full QWERTY keyboard, the only important element that the iPhone 3G doesn’t have which make the Bold a better option for business application. The designer also put silver lines separating each line of keys on its full QWERTY keyboard which I think a smart innovation that can help users distinguish between keys on the QWERTY keyboard.
Features
The BlackBerry Bold is a quad-band smartphone with both HSDPA (high speed downlink packet access) 3G and GPS navigation. With HSDPA connection and built in Wi-Fi you can now experience fast internet connection in your BlackBerry handset. The on-board GPS receiver unfortunately claimed to be having trouble at loading the maps.
Featuring a 628MHz ARM processor, the BlackBerry Bold sure has more than enough power to run everyday tasks and heavy graphic like video playback and Web page rendering lag free.
The screen is small indeed compared to the iPhone’s screen but that’s not a problem because it is just perfect if you’re use to BlackBerry’s screen size. It also not a touch sensitive screen but you don’t need it in a BlackBerry right? The good point is the display is much improved. With VGA 480 x 320-pixel resolution and the ability to display 65,000 colours, the result is a detailed and very vibrant screen that makes pictures seem to burst forth.
2MP camera that can also capture video is built in the back of the Bold. And to add more multimedia experience in this handset they now provide a 3.5mm headphone input, meaning you can plug in your favorite headphones to listen to music or videos easier.
Well, overall the Blackberry Bold is a great improvement in BlackBerry lines and it sure is a complete smartphone which perfect for corporate and business use. If you interested you can try to read direct Blackberry Bold review from users and find out more about it before you buy it.
